Highlights

The i30N is a true hot hatch, developed for the true enthusiast. Building on the success of it’s predecessor, the 2022 i30N is built off the i30 chassis, albeit fitted with a host of visual upgrades which give it a sharp and aggressive look which hints strongly at its sporty capabilities, and separate it from the rest of the i30 range. In true hot hatch style, this car is packing power and torque, and speeds which are set to redefine the benchmarks for what a hot hatch can be. This thing is seriously quick, and a whole lot of fun to drive. As it is a performance car, there are additional controls you gain over the drivetrain, including new driving modes and performance functions, the ability to define the suspension, handling and chassis settings with the touch of a button. The i30N has true sports car capability when you need it, while also being extremely liveable and capable as a daily driver.

What's it like to drive?

Now, while this is no doubt a high octane, high adrenaline driving machine set up for performance, it’s capabilities as a daily driver can’t be understated. After all, it is still an i30. Which means you’re getting excellent liveability from a compact hatch, allowing you to do life without compromise. All the technology and features you would expect in a 2022 Hyundai are familiarly present, making the i30N the perfect compromise between performance and driveability. The 2022 refresh has addressed pain points of previous iterations to provide a truly refined and dynamic car which will look the part on both a track day and a work day. If you’re after a true hot hatch experience in 2022, the Hyundai i30N is sure to be high on your list.
